Missing Bragg soldier found alive

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Putnam was reported missing from Fayetteville on Feb. 10.

Deputies took the 22-year-old into custody Wednesday at a mobile home park. Investigators say he was involuntarily committed to a hospital in Malvern, Arkansas for treatment.

Putnam's mother told Eyewitness News last week she was concerned about her son's safety.

She said he was not taking medication that was prescribed to him by doctors at Fort Bragg.

According to an investigator in Arkansas, Putnam suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.

After arriving by bus, the soldier was observed by surveillance camera at an ATM in Arkansas. Initial reports of his disappearance led authorities to beleive he might have been taken against his will.

It was later determined that he was not abducted and had contacted friends and family in Arkansas.

Putnam is a member of the 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division.
