J. Billy Ford, 27, also of Fayetteville is listed in very serious condition at a Charlotte hospital. He is being treated for a shotgun wound to the upper portion of his body.
The shootings happened just before 7 p.m. Wednesday on Dunn Road and Plymouth Street.
In a news release, sheriff's office spokesperson Debbie Tanna characterized the incident as "a long-standing argument between two large groups of people resulted in the shooting."
She said detectives are questioning witnesses, and did not announce any charges at this time.
