Second church conman arrested

CHARLOTTE David Oneal Twitty, 45, is charged with obtaining property by false pretense. His son Travis Terrell Twitty was already in custody after an arrest on Sunday.

Investigators say the pair went to churches in about a dozen different counties requesting financial help. They gathered hundreds of dollars and would then move on to their next victim.

Detectives are looking at scam complaints from churches in four states going back as far as 1997 by a man identifying himself as David Twitty. So far, he has not been charged in those cases.
