Investigators say four West Johnston High School students riding in a silver Honda collided head-on with a green Mustang.
Two of the teens were hurt and one was taken to the hospital by helicopter. The adult driver of the other car was also taken by ambulance.
A pastor inside a nearby church says he heard the crash.
"I went running out because I saw it was a bad wreck and got out there to the car where the young people were at, I told the boys that were hurt real bad, I put my hand on his shoulder and told them I was a pastor and I was going to be with them until the rescue squad arrives," Pastor R.B. Parrish said.
Investigators have not released the official cause of the accident, but the Honda's driver says the other car crossed the center line.
