Arrest made in fatal hit-and-run

RALEIGH It happened on I-40 east at the Gorman Street exit around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The victim -25-year-old Ian Kristopher Quick - was driving a moped. Detectives say they believe a newer (mid 2000s or newer) model yellow Nissan Exterra hit Quick.

On Tuesday, Raleigh Police arrested 28-year-old Gavin Clifford Hawk and charged him with felony hit-and-run in connection with the wreck.

A caller's tip led to the identification of Hawk as the driver of the Nissan Xterra involved.
