Authorities say the man also wounded his neighbor and his neighbor's daughter in a dispute over a dog.
Deputies do not know if he was shot during an overnight standoff with officers. The incident began late Wednesday when he reportedly shot his neighbor's dog after it wandered into his yard.
Investigators say the deputies had non life-threatening injuries. The neighbor and his daughter were taken to the hospital but their conditions are unknown.
Officials haven't released any identities.
