Troopers say 29-year-old Wence Funes-Ortiz went off the road to the right, struck a sign, hit several trees, and overturned. Police say there is no guardrail in that area.
They say speed played a role, but it isn't known if any other factors could be related. They say they are still investigating.
Witnesses say Funes-Ortiz was passing them, but it is not known how fast he was going at the time of the accident.
No one else was involved in the crash.
Drivers experienced traffic delays for over an hour as authorities cleared the scene.
