Police seek food mart murder suspect

Detectives want the public's help finding a man wanted in connection with a food mart murder.Fayetteville police are looking for 27-year-old Michael McLaurin. He is wanted for the shooting death of 20-year-old Demetrius Deshawn Johnson.

Johnson was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of Ya-Ya Food Mart on Murchison Road around 1 a.m. on June 27. He later died at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

The store's owner, 30-year-old Waheed Abdo Abdulla, was also found shot to death inside the mart, but it is not clear if McLaurin is tied to his murder.

Authorities say surveillance photographs show a 2009 Ford Focus, silver or gray in color at the store around the time of the shootings.
