Then just before 6 p.m. two men reported that a fox was behaving aggressively when it approached them.
One of the men killed the animal and it later tested positively for rabies.
Authorities said due to the nature of their contact with the fox, the men were told to seek treatment for rabies exposure.
Police said residents should avoid wildlife and are advised to keep pets away from wild animals.
