Rough weather pounds Triangle

Severe thunderstorm warnings popped up around the Triangle Friday as scattered storms brought wind, rain and lightning.Click here for current watches and warnings

Eyewitness News had reports of scattered damage - including downed trees and power lines Friday evening.

The National Weather Service put out a hazardous weather outlook for most of central North Carolina, including Person, Granville, Vance, Warren, Halifax, Forsyth, Guilford, Alamance, Orange, Durham, Franklin, Nash, Edgecombe, Davidson, Randolph, Chatham, Wake, Johnston, Wilson, Stanly, Montgomery, Moore, Lee, Harnett, Wayne, Anson, Richmond, Scotland, Hoke, Cumberland, and Sampson counties.

Forecasters said a few of the scattered thunderstorms were severe and produced wind gusts up to 60 mph.
