A Johnson Hospital official notified the sheriff's office that a gunshot victim who was brought to the hospital died.
He is identified at 26-year-old Tony McKoy of Dunn.
Investigators say about 20 t0 30 people were at the location where McKoy was shot. However, when deputies arrived at the scene, most of the crowd had dispersed.
Deputies have not made any arrests but there is a person of interest in the case. That person's identity has not been released and it is not clear if that person has been questioned.
