Lake Wheeler beach closed again

WAKE COUNTY The county closed the Lake Wheeler beach the last three Tuesdays for several days. They said there is high bacteria levels in the water.

Although swimming is banned, Lake Wheeler remains open for fishing, water skiing and other activities.

In response to the recent closing of that beach and the Falls Lake beach last month, the county announced a new Web site for Wake County lakes.
