Police say a teenager was shot and killed by a group of men pretending to be police officers. It happened just after 10 p.m. Tuesday night at a home on Travis Run.

Witnesses told investigators that a group of friends were playing cards outside the home when a SUV with four to six men inside pulled up.

The men said they were police and pointed handguns, shotguns, and rifles at the card players and ordered them down on the ground. They then started robbing them.

Police say 17-year-old Jermaine Larquez Lynch saw what was happening and tried to run away. He was shot in the upper body and was pronounced dead at Nash General Hospital.
