The Pontiac, driven by 23-year-old Yeymy Marily Leon Peralta was turning left from Michell Mill Road onto Louisburg Road when she was hit by 60-year-old Shirley Louise Jacobs.
Troopers said that four people in total were transported to Wake Medical Center, including the 8-year-old girl. They said Jacobs was going the speed limit and everyone involved was wearing their seat belts. No other vehicles were involved.
Officials said that drugs, alcohol and weather were not factors in the accident. Charges against Jacobs are currently pending.
