Cumberland County detectives say a man who is a person of interest in a Fayetteville murder is now charged with knowingly spreading HIV - the virus that causes AIDS.Isaac Micah McDonald, 34, was arrested in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

According to published reports, McDonald admitted to Fort Smith investigators that he had unprotected sex with a woman - knowing he had HIV - and didn't tell her. The victim now has the disease.

McDonald pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of knowingly spreading HIV. If convicted, he faces six to 30 years in prison.

In 2002, McDonald was a person of interest in the murder of Fayetteville resident Janet Norris. Her body was found stuffed in the trunk of her car in a wooded area off Canady Street.

There was not enough evidence at the time to charge anyone with her murder but McDonald still remains a person of interest in this case.

Meanwhile, detectives are asking anyone who has information about the murder of Janet Norris to call the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 323-1500, or call the anonymous tips line at (910) 484-TIPS (8477).
