Two men charged in Fayetteville murder

CUMBERLAND COUNTY A third man is wanted for questioning in the case. Detectives say he is a person of interest.

Gregory David Sterling, 20, and Clarence Eugene Peterson, 18, are charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and first-degree murder.

The men allegedly shot and killed 35-year-old Donyell Debron McCutchen in his Hissop Street home on September 30.

Sterling and Peterson have been in the Cumberland County Detention Center since Oct. 7 on unrelated charges. Police say the men were involved in another armed robbery in Fayetteville and after an investigation; a connection was made to the Eureka Springs homicide.

Detectives say they are still looking for a person of interest.

Avery Jamar Ford, 21, is wanted for questioning in McCutchen's murder.

Investigators believe Ford may know what happened the morning of McCutchen's death. They say the victim was killed by unknown suspects who forcibly entered his home.

Ford is a black male, approximately 5'5" tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He also a cross with the letters RIP tattooed on his right arm.
