A National Guard soldier from North Carolina has been killed in Afghanistan.Military officials say Specialist Anthony Green died Friday after a roadside bombing.
The 28-year-old is from Matthews in Mecklenburg County.
A fellow soldier, 32-year-old Staff Sergeant Chris Staats, was also killed in the attack.
Both were assigned to the 143rd Infantry Detachment at Camp Mabry and were suppose to return home in a month.
