Man charged in fatal head-on crash

RALEIGH Police say Teresa Bagley Weintraub was driving in her 2006 Saturn at 6:30 p.m. when she was hit by an oncoming 2006 Mazda driven by Aleksey Glazunov.

Authorities say Glazunov was attempting to pass several vehicles before there was a merge in the road on Skycrest Drive when the accident happened.

According to the accident report, when the merge ended, Glazunov ran off the road to the right, steered toward the left into oncoming traffic going around additional vehicles, then ran off the road on the left and lost control turning sideways.

When he regained control, his car struck Weintraub head-on.

Glazunov is charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
