Officers said they noticed a discrepancy in the driver's paperwork during an inspection at the Lordsburg port of entry in southern New Mexico. Then a search dog signaled the presence of drugs on the truck.
Bundles of marijuana were found in boxes mixed with cartons of chairs. The drugs were worth an estimated $1.1 million.
Allen Kings and Arnold Cuyler, both of Charlotte, N.C., were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Police say both have criminal histories including arrests for violent and drug offenses.
