Robert Leffer was greeted by throngs of family and friends - including local fire departments as he made his way home Thursday.
Leffer is a true survivor. He spent nearly a year in the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center after a fiery crash on I-40.
He nearly died from the second and third degree burns he suffered on 80-percent of his body.
But months of rigorous rehab and sheer determination have made it possible for him to spend this Christmas with his wife and son.
"I'm here to see my little boy grow. When I was in that fire, I didn't think I'd get out of it," he said.
