Pictures from Chopper 11 HD showed the car crushed under the front of the truck on Shotwell Road near the intersection with Highway 70.
It happened right in front of Smithfield Foods around 3:45 p.m.
Police say a 2007 Toyota crossed the center lane of Shotwell Road and struck the tractor trailer, which was waiting to turn into the Smithfield Distribution Center.
The Toyota struck the tractor trailer head on and the driver, 57-year-old John Nicholas Evans, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer, 45-year-old Sergio Montejano Vasques, was not injured.
No charges have been made at this time and the accident is still under investigation.
