Police are looking for three suspects who allegedly assaulted a woman and held residents of a home at gunpoint.

According to the Durham Police Department, the incident began Saturday around 7 p.m. at a house on South Benjamine St.

A woman said she was leaving the home when two men forced her back inside at gunpoint. Then one of the male suspects reportedly pointed a shotgun at several people inside the home, including an elderly, handicapped woman.

One of the suspects is accused of slapping one of the female residents in the face and then dragging her.

Police say the men took cash and jewelry before leaving the scene in a white Jeep Cherokee or similar box-style SUV. The vehicle was last seen on Sater Street.

Anyone with information about the crime can call Investigator Cristaldi at 560-4281, ext. 29123 or CrimeStoppers at 683-1200.
