Child sexual battery fugitive nabbed in Raleigh

RALEIGH According to police affidavits obtained by ABC 11 Eyewitness News, Johnny Lee Casey, 45, engaged in sexual activity with his step-daughter on multiple occasions between 2007 and May of 2009.

Investigators with the Ocala, Florida police department also say that, during forensic interviews, the victim revealed that a second girl was also attacked by Casey.

Police were able to track down that second girl, who said she was victimized on a number of occasions, possibly 10-11 times, as well, but was too scared to say anything, fearing that her mom would get mad.

Officials in Marion County, Florida were first notified on July 23, 2009 about the sexual battery allegations.

Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for Casey's arrest.

Police say he fled to Raleigh, where he was arrested earlier this month.

He has been held without bond since then while Governors Charlie Christ of Florida and Bev Purdue of North Carolina processed extradition paperwork.

Casey will be sent back to Florida to face two charges of lewd and lascivious battery on a child 12-16 years old.

Casey is also charged with failure to appear, and being a fugitive from justice.
