Three hospitalized in Durham shootings

DURHAM In the first incident, officers responded to a "shots fired" call shortly after 2 p.m.

Police say several males were arguing near the intersection of Maple and East Main streets when several shots were fired. One man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

A female, who was on a nearby porch, suffered a gunshot wound to her side.

According to witnesses, the female was not involved in the altercation.

Both victims were taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment. No charges have been filed.

Then, just before 8pm, police were called to another "subject shot" incident, at #38 Wabash Street.

When they arrived, they found Christopher Lamont Johnson, 30, shot in the head.

He was taken to Duke as well, and is still in critical condition.
