Funeral scheduled Friday for minister killed in Haiti

Two services are being held for a minister who was killed in the Haiti earthquake.

A memorial service for Dixon was held in Roanoke Rapids Thursday at the First United Methodist Church.

His funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh located at 228 West Edenton St.

Rev. Dixon was a member of the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries and the head of the humanitarian relief for the church.

He died before he could be rescued from the Montana Hotel, which was destroyed by the earthquake.
