Lanny Wilson leaves Turnpike board

RALEIGH

The move comes after his decision last week to step down from the NC Board of Transportation.

Wilson has been linked to the ongoing investigation of former NC Governor Mike Easley. He testified about alleged campaign finance violations at Easley's campaign before the State Board of Elections last year.

In his resignation last week from the DOT, Wilson told Governor Beverly Perdue that he was becoming a distraction to the board and felt it was time to go.
