Rand replacement to be sworn in

FAYETTEVILLE

Dickson was elected last week by a committee of representatives from Bladen and Cumberland counties to fill the vacancy created in Senate District 19 by the resignation of Sen. Tony Rand.

"I wanted to be sworn in out in the open, right on the border of these two great counties because that is exactly how I plan to serve the people of District 19, equally with an open mind and an open door." Dickson said in a news release.

Dickson makes the move over to the North Carolina Senate after serving four terms in the North Carolina House. She has announced her intention to file this February to seek election to the NC Senate for District 19 in November.
