The attempted attack happened Wednesday night at Lenox Place Apartments off of Garner Station Boulevard near U.S. 401.
Police say the suspect tried assaulting the victim but ran when he realized other people were inside the apartment.
There is not a good description of the suspect because he was wearing a mask.
