Factory worker killed in Wilson plant

Authorities are investigating the death of a Peninsula Packaging worker.

Emergency crews responded to a call about an industrial accident around 2:20 p.m. Thursday at the Wilson plant on Wilco Blvd.

Upon their arrival, emergency workers found an employee stuck in a production machine. The employee died at the scene.

Peninsula Packaging authorities, Wilson Police Department, the North Carolina Industrial Commission and OSHA are working together to investigate the incident.

The identity of the employee has not been released.
