Police chase ends with tasing

RALEIGH

The North Carolina Highway Highway Patrol and Raleigh police chased the driver of a BMW, who was wanted for breaking and entering at a business in north Raleigh around 2:10 a.m.

Authorities say the chase started on Millbrook Road when officers spotted the suspect. During the pursuit, police say the suspect, 34-year-old Gaben Marcus Stubberfield of Fuquay Varina, called 911 to say he had a gun and a hostage.

After authorities were able to determine tha Stubberfield didn't have a gun or a hostage, officers forced him to spin out on Glenwood Ave. near Crabtree Valley Mall.

When Stubberfield wouldn't get out of his car, police tased and arrested him. He is charged with two counts of breaking and entering.

The Highway Patrol told ABC11 Eyewitness News Stubberfield will face additional charges.
