Police: Teen thrown from car dies

ORANGE COUNTY

Deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian hit Monday around 2:45 p.m. on Saw Mill Road in northern Orange County. After interviewing witnesses, they determined the victim was a passenger in the vehicle he was thrown from. Witnesses told deputies the vehicle sped away from the scene.

The victim, 19-year-old Paylor James Daniels of Orange County, was transported to Duke University Hospital where he died Monday. Investigators say his injuries were the result of being thrown from the vehicle and they did not indicate anything happened to Daniels before the incident.

Two of the suspects, Demarus Carver and Jemeison Torain, turned themselves in Monday night. The third suspect, Rodney Fearrington, was taken in to custody this morning.

All of the suspects are charged with first-degree murder.
