Pedestrian killed in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE

Officers say their investigation has revealed, so far, that a pedestrian walked into the roadway on Eastern Blvd Wednesday afternoon in an area that did not have a crosswalk. A 2006 Honda Motorcycle was approaching from the direction of Russell St. and the motorcyclist, Charley Hall, 41, tried to stop, but was unable to stop in time and struck the pedestrian.

The motorcycle then continued into the path of a 2005 Dodge traveling on Eastern Blvd in the opposite direction and hit the vehicle.

Hall and a passenger traveling with the owner of the Dodge, 25-year-old Jeremy Jones, were taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Jones was not hurt.

The pedestrian has not been identified at this time.

The police will continue to investigate this case and so far no charges have been filed.
