Wake County road getting rehabilitated

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has awarded a $3.1 million contact to Blythe Construction of Raleigh to rehabilitate a 5.5 mile section of U.S. 64.The work will stretch from Ashville Avenue to N.C. 55 in Wake County beginning April 5, weather permitting, and is scheduled to be completed by September.

The project contract specifies that work can only be completed from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. At least one lane of traffic must be open at all times.

Officials of NCDOT remind motorists to watch out for signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
