Durham police investigate overnight murder

DURHAM

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the 900 block of Dupree Street at 12:12 a.m.

When they arrived, they found a male who had been shot outside a house.

The male, Kareem Fowler, 33, of Sedgefield Street, was taken to Duke University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Fowler was visiting a friend on Dupree Street when a vehicle pulled up outside the house. A male got out of the vehicle, an argument ensued and shots were fired, according to investigators.

No charges have been filed at this time.
