Man charged with assaulting Raleigh officer

A Raleigh man wanted for writing a worthless check is now charged with striking a police officer in the face.Kenya Norwood is charged with one count of assault of a government official, and a count of resisting a public officer.

Authorities say the officer was trying to serve a warrant on Norwood for writing a bad check in the amount of $53.36, when he struck the officer and ran away.

Now Norwood is behind bars on a $7,000 bond.
