The first car rolled over and caught on fire. Rocky Mount police said the driver, 22-year-old Donald Oliver Jones, got out and ran. A passenger in the car, 23-year-old Antone Felder, was killed.
Jones was later arrested and charged with felony death by motor vehicle, felony serious injury by motor vehicle, DWI, and driving with a revoked license.
Three people in the other car were taken to Nash General Hospital and Pitt Memorial Hospital. They were expected to be released Monday. Jones was being held on a $26,500 bond.
