Duke Hospital's baby-napper indicted

DURHAM Police say Tanisha Weaver was caught on tape inside the hospital. They say she lured the baby's mother from her room by asking her to go to the lobby to receive gifts.

That's when they say Weaver removed an electronic security bracelet from the baby's body and that triggered the alarms.

Weaver, 28, was caught before she got out of the hospital. She is charged with felony attempted child abduction.

The baby wasn't hurt.

The mother says she wants an apology from Weaver.

According to authorities, weeks before the incident at Duke Hospital, Weaver pulled a knife on a pregnant woman in a Lousiburg parking lot. And then in another incident, Weaver reportedly was caught on surveillance tape posing as a nurse and casing Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.
