Police say they responded to a call Wednesday about the assault. The victim told officers 29-year-old Darrell Taylor assaulted her inside her home.
Taylor is charged with second-degree forcible sex offense.
As part of the investigation, police obtained a search warrant for the suspect's home.
During that search, officers found evidence of suspected explosive devices. Police say federal charges are pending against Taylor for possession of a sawed-off shotgun and a destructive device.
Taylor is being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $250,000 bond for the sex offense. His first court appearance is scheduled for June 21.
