Tractor-trailer carrying garbage overturns

June 25, 2010 8:01:40 AM PDT
One person was injured when a tractor-trailer overturned in Fayetteville Friday morning.

It happened just after 7:30 a.m. at the corner of Hillsboro and Rowan streets. Police say a tractor-trailer carrying garbage turned the corner too fast and flipped over.

The truck spilled trash it was carrying. The crash also caused the truck's fuel tank to leak, spilling diesel at the scene. Emergency officials contained the fuel and cleaned up the trash shortly after the crash.

The driver of the truck, 38-year-old Antonio Olvera Guillen of Rose Hill, NC was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with minor injuries.

He was released and police have not charged him in connection with the wreck. Police have not said if charges are pending.

No other vehicles were involved.
