NC body builder charged with husband's murder

MOYOCK, N.C.

Currituck County deputies tell The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk, Va., that 38-year-old bodybuilder Lateisha Jandreau was arrested Saturday by officers who found 51-year-old Paul Jandreau's body in the couple's garage.

They did not say how he died but an autopsy is scheduled.

Friends reported the retired Navy master chief missing Wednesday, after he did not show up for work.

They said it was out of character for their coworker, so they decided to go to his home. Friends said they found Paul's pickup truck in the driveway and knew something was wrong because whenever he went somewhere, he drove his 2005 GMC Sierra.

On Thursday, Paul's friends saw Lateisha and her brother, 39-year-old Eugene Askew, loading up furniture into the truck, which was back up to the couple's house. Askew is wanted as a person of interest.

Paul's brother, Mike Jandreau, said he talked to his brother often. He said his brother wanted a divorce and his wife out of the house.

Mike Jandreau says his brother told him he was having problems with Lateisha, but wasn't scared. The two had been married for about eight years after meeting in a kickboxing class and Lateisha Jandreau won a state bodybuilding championship last month.

Lateisha Jandreau is charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the county jail.
