Club Envy permanently shut down

RALEIGH

City leaders moved to shut down the club after a series of violent incidents - including the shooting of two men in May.

Officials said there have also been more than 300 calls for service over the last three and a half years - including assaults, rape, stabbings, shootings, and even homicide.

"The state's nuisance abatement law provides a tool that local communities can use to stop criminal activity at places like this for good," said Alcohol Law Enforcement Director John Ledford. "Working closely with the City of Raleigh, we were able to mutually solve this problem once and for all."
