Duke officer named chief at UT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.

The new chief if Gloria S. Graham, currently the assistant police chief at Duke University.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reported Graham becomes the first woman to head the University of Tennessee Police Department.

The newspaper reported Graham was selected from a field of 81 applicants, two of whom are with the department.

Graham will succeed August Washington who left a year ago to become chief of police and assistant vice chancellor at Vanderbilt University.
