Among the finalists on the lists is the current Interim Superintendent of the Wake County Public School System, Donna Hargens.
Hargens was appointed to the position in April, a job she conducts in addition to her role as the system's Chief Academic Officer.
Prior to assuming her role as Chief Academic Officer, she served as an assistant principal, principal and assistant superintendent in Wake County.
