RALEIGH --Wake County school board member Keith Sutton says he has spoken with Raleigh's police chief about how an officer dealt with him at last week's school board meeting. Sutton was almost arrested last week in a mix-up between protesters and police. During a press conference on Thursday, he asked for an apology from Raleigh Police and to meet with Police Chief Harry Dolan.
He hasn't received an apology, but Sutton says he has spoken to Chief Dolan and the two are planning to meet in the next couple of days.
Sutton says he went into the crowd to calm down the situation after he noticed a child and woman with a walker caught up in the protests. He says a police officer thought he was a protester and put his arms behind his back.
