Chatham Middle School burglary suspect arrested

PITTSBORO

Officials discovered that someone had broken into the school and stolen seven lap top computers valued at a total of about $7,000.

Warren Ray Pittman was identified as a suspect after an investigation in which law enforcement used recovered video surveillance tape.

Pittman was arrested Wednesday and charged with felonious breaking and entering, felonious larceny, felonious possession of stolen property and injury to real property.

Deputies jailed Pittman under a $20,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro August 9.
