Shortly after 10 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at 609 Hay Lane.
Two men were sitting on the porch when someone opened fire on them.
Thirty-year-old Ezekiel Crowder and 30-year-old Marcus McClenningham were shot.
Crowder died from his injuries Wednesday morning at WakeMed. McClenningham was treated for a non-life-threatening wound to his arm.
Police say they do not know who the shooter is or if the shooter knows the victims.
