Alleged gunman in custody after lockdown

CHATHAM COUNTY

The sheriff's office said it issued an alert for Johnny Cliffton "Cliff" Fogleman after he was seen driving a red three-wheeler in the Silk Hope area - reportedly with a gun.

Deputies said Fogleman, who lives at 624 Bowers Store Road allegedly assaulted a family member earlier Friday.

The nearby Silk Hope School was locked down for the safety and security of students. Just before 3 p.m., school officials said students were allowed to go home under the direct supervision staff members.

Around 4 p.m. Friday, deputies said Fogleman was in custody after an extensive search. Further details weren't available.
