Woman shot at Durham gas station

DURHAM Authorities say the woman suffered a graze wound at a BP service station on North Roxboro Road around 5:30 p.m.

The victim told officers she went inside the station, and as she was walking back to her car, she saw a tall black man wearing a white T-shirt trying to get into her car. She says she tried to stop him, and he shot her in the side and took her car.

She was transported to Duke Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the watch commander, the suspect fled the scene in a gold Honda Accord. Police recovered the car Tuesday around 8 a.m. on Shenandoah Avenue.

Police have not made any arrests.
