The fire started on Monday, but on Wednesday afternoon it jumped a fire break. Firefighters says they had to cut a new fire line to keep it contained.
Also on Wednesday, hot and dry conditions fueled fires in Franklin County.
The blaze sparked near Franklinton off Green Mill Road and Mount Olive Church Road.
There were no structures threatened, but a lot of smoke in the air.
It is unclear when the blazes will be completely out.
