Cumberland County District Attorney Ed Grannis is reportedly upset with the way state police investigated social service workers in the Shaniya Davis murder case.

According to the Fayetteville Observer, Grannis is unhappy with the State Bureau of Investigation's work so see if the Cumberland County Department of Social Services did everything it could to help find the killer.

Davis, 5, was taken from her Fayetteville home in November 2009. Mario Andrette McNeill has been charged with kidnapping, rape and murder. He was seen on a hotel surveillance video with Davis.

The girl's mother, Antoinette Davis, is charged with child abuse involving prostitution.

Fayetteville Police Chief Tom Bergamine told Grannis he didn't think police had received full cooperation from DSS in the investigation.
